the one with Mr. James and the chainsaw

well---

trees cut down + chainsaw = tons of work.

So we had the trees cut yesterday, which was an interesting experience in itself. But now we have to cut all the hardwood up... and move it. There was 4 of us that went out there today, and a fellow name James ( who lives around the block) showed up with a chainsaw to help us- so that was awesome. The pine that they cut.. very sappy.. also, because it stormed last night the ground is ridiculously slippery and muddy... i might have fallen..??
We are just about to get the plans and stuff ready to give to the city tomorrow- which also qualifies as very exciting.

the one with the not so great pin up

well... it seems like we are not moving forward in design... we argue and the 11 people do something 11 different ways and then they don't work, then we get in a pin up and nothing goes over well-- it seems repetitive.
whatever- the pamphlets are ready to go out, which is good because we are about out of money. we have spent all day trying to work through design issues: roofs, plans, materials.... you get the point. morgan and I are back out in ruston tomorrow- recruiting and revisiting businesses. cross your fingers that it goes well...

the one with all the business cards

well so morgan and I went out to talk to plumbing/ electrical  equiptment suppliers today.--- well we got slightly out of control and ended up visiting 3/4 of the businesses on Farmerville Hwy. well, it totally worked out and we collected a zillion business cards, and met with a ton of people. They all seem really interested which is very encouraging. Now we have to get the little pamphlets out to all of them and hopefully they will still feel like helping by the time they recieve them in the mail.

the one with the secret family

Honestly- things are moving along incredibly well. We decided on a family tonight, but I wont post the name until it is official. I have been in contact with I think everyone in Louisiana regarding this project, but we are getting our name out and people seem to be interested. In the last couple of days I have spoken with AIA Louisiana, AIA Monroe and AIA Shreveport- they are all very supportive of what we are doing, so that is exciting. Also- we will be presenting to AIA Monroe and the local Kiwanis Club in February. Well i think I am off to bed... still sick.. and its hard to work when you have been sick for a week!

the one with PR junk

Alright- so I totally forgot about this thing.
Lets see... habiTECH.... things have started moving ridiculously fast- pretty much as of today.
We met with Mr. Henry this afternoon, and ended up going to visit one of the possible partner families.
We will vote on that later tonight- and hopefully have a family tomorrow. So that in itself is an incredibly HUGE step. I have spent most of the day just working on PR junk- Ive called a million places and have a million more to call, but AIA Louisiana is gonna give us some help- so that is also exciting. We are having problems finding someone to do dirt work... so if you read this and do dirt work... PLEASE give us a call. The design for the house is moving along well and we all seem pretty content with the design... surprising. Ok well- i must go work on the new update for the ARRIS newsletter--- holler!
